My name is Marisa Klaas, a class of 2025 heptathlete and triple jumper at Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, Illinois, and TNT Track & Field Academy in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. This past season I qualified for the 3A state championships in the 100m hurdles, with a PR of 15.67. I also had PRs in triple jump with 10.73m, long jump with 5.13m, and shot put with 8.45m. At the USATF Region 7 Championships, I scored 3686 points in the heptathlon, improving my score from last year by over 900 points and placing 3rd. I also jumped a PR of 5’1” in the open high jump, qualifying for USATF Nationals. Overall, from last season to this season, I took off almost three seconds from my 100m hurdle time, added two and a half feet to my long jump, and added six feet to my shot put. Next season, my goals are to run under 15.25 in the 100m hurdles, jump 5’4”, 17’9”, and 36’ in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump, respectively, and score 4350 points in the heptathlon. I am a straight-A student with a 5.97 weighted GPA. I have taken AP classes since my freshman year and gotten a 4 on the AP Human Geography, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Chemistry tests. For my senior year, I am doing the full-time dual credit program at Elgin Community College. 

I would be a great addition to any team; I bring a positive attitude, leadership skills, and a strong work ethic. I am motivated to reach my goals and am always willing to put in extra work. I am also supportive and encouraging of my teammates. Off the track, I am very academically motivated. I strive for straight As and will put in extra work to get a higher grade or understand the material better. Outside of school and track, a group of my friends and I have been working to put in a butterfly garden to foster the growth of native plants and attract pollinators.
