My name is Lukas Probst from the graduating class of 2026, I attend Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois. I am a middle-distance runner with personal bests of 51.22 in the 400m, 1:58.27 in the 800m, and 4:35.22 in the 1600m. My junior year I was blessed to have the opportunity to run at the Illinois class 3a state finals for the 4x800m relay. We placed third with my split being a PR of 1:55.76. Starting in elementary school though my sophomore year I played basketball and football, so I am quick and explosive allowing me to outkick a majority of the field. Being a multi-sport athlete has allowed me to experience a variety of coaching philosophies. It has helped build my 6’0” frame through different drills and exercises making me a more versatile athlete. My goals for this upcoming season are to break 50 in the 400m, break the school record (1:51.81) in the 800m, and run 4:25 in the 1600m. Apart from being on the track I also am able to get it done in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA, 1340 SAT and honors math and science classes every year. 

Running has always been a part of my life, I’ve been a part of a running club or team since 3rd grade. Track and Cross Country helped me grow into who I am today, gaining leadership skills, and learning how to deal with many different personalities. This fall I was proud to be nominated by my coaches as a captain for my cross country team. With a lot of young talent on our team this year I have very high hopes for the upcoming Cross Country and Track & Field seasons. Coming from a tight knit team it is important for me to be a part of a group of guys that don’t just train together but are a community. Outside of school I spend my time volunteering through a group called YMSL, Young Men’s Service League, and working at a local deli for the past 2 years.
