My name is Celia Blaylock, and I will be graduating in the class of 2027 at Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, Illinois. My PR’s are 17:44 for 3 miles, 11:37 in the 3200m, 5:16 in the 1600m, 2:19 in the open 800m, and 1:03 in the 400m. I helped contribute to a 5th place team finish at the 2025 IHSA 3A State Championship in cross country. During the 2025 track season, I also helped the 4x800m relay finish 5th at the IHSA 3A state meet, where I was the anchor leg and ran a 2:17 split. My goals for junior year track season are to break 11:10 in the 2 mile, 5:05 in the 1600m, run under 2:14 in the 800m, and break 1:01 in the 400m. In cross country, my goal is to break 17:00. 

In school, I currently have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.7 weighted GPA and will complete 5 AP courses and 12 honors classes by graduation. As a sophomore, I received the NSC sportsmanship award. Additionally, I am a member of student council and National Honor Society, where we focus on giving back to the school and community. As a junior, I was selected by my coach to attend the NSC leadership conference, where athletes from all sports came together to learn and grow as leaders. Outside of cross country and track, I have been a member of the girls’ basketball team for my entire high school career. I have also been part of the marching/concert band.  

I am a very goal-driven person who loves to put in the work to achieve my goals. I love to push myself every day to be the best athlete, student, and person I can be. Cross country and track allow me to better myself every day as I work hard to achieve my goals and build better relationships with my teammates and coaches. I’m excited to continue to pursue my academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level.
