My name is Breena Shreeves, and I am a focused self-motivator who loves surprising my coaches not just by setting my goals high, but also by staying focused and dedicated until I reach them. As a three-sport (2020) athlete at Knoxville High School in Illinois, I compete in Track and Field, Cross Country and Basketball. Up until fall of 2018, I was on the volleyball team as well, but on the advice of my track and field coaches, I made the last-minute switch and ran my first season of Cross Country in 2018, finishing 26^th with 18:16 at the state finals. I made the state finals running anchor in the 7^th place 4x400m with a 4:09 PR as well as finals in the 800m finishing the 2018 track season with a 2:19 PR.

I give my best to everything I do, and I push myself outside of my comfort zone to achieve my goals in sports, academics and life. I read a quote that says if no one is laughing at your goals, you haven’t set them high enough, and that sort of says it all for me. If I don’t take the risk and push my limits, I will never reach my full potential! I am an honor student taking the full honors route at my high school, and I plan to study Neuroscience after graduation. I am a member of National Honor Society, a captain on each of my three sports and a leader in my class. One of my favorite things about being a captain is helping to guide the younger girls to be their best and to stay focused on our goals as a team.
