My name is Ivan Westcott. I am class of 2021 at Yorkville High School. I have competed as a varsity athlete in Cross Country and Track all three years of my high school career. My 3 mile PR is a 15:00.2, I have reached 16:02 in the 5k, I will go into the 2020 track season with PRs of 4:31.18 in the 1600m and 10:01.68 in the 3200m. My goals for this track season is to break the 4:20 mark for the 1600m and break 9:20 in the 3200m. I was awarded Academic Excellence for my cumulative 4.2 GPA Freshman and Sophomore year.

As a captain of the 2019-20 season I am a leader for a young, determined team, that has grown to be a family. I find strength through my coach’s favorite quote: “I’ll run for you, if you run for me”. I strive to be great and struggle to settle for anything less. Outside of school and running, I work at Whitetail Ridge Golf Course in Yorkville, as a Banquet Server. Freshman year I was a catcher for the Northern Illinois Reds travel baseball, but made the decision to give up baseball for track when spring came around.
