Hi, my name is Eliana Malnourie and I will be graduating from Hayward High School in Wisconsin in 2021. In my athletic career I have competed in cross country, nordic skiing, and track. In my career, I have raced at the Wisconsin State Cross Country meet 3 times and I was a member of the 4x800m relay team that competed at the WI State Track meet and broke the school record. In early February 2020 at the USATF Wisconsin Indoor T&F Meet, I ran a 5:33 in the 1600m. It is my goal to run a 5:15 with a full season. 

I find joy in running and training, but I also enjoy spending my time skiing and mountain biking. I had a solid freshman year but faced multiple injuries over my sophomore year that has inspired me to train harder and smarter. Although it was a setback and emotionally challenging, it has made me a smarter and stronger athlete in training styles, injury prevention, and encouraged a more positive mindset towards my goals.  

Nordic skiing has been a part of my life for almost 10 years and I have had successful competitive seasons, but in recent years running has become my top priority. I had big goals for this track season and made the tough decision to focus solely on track in the winter months. This was a difficult decision, but I am confident that this provided me with the opportunity to prepare and train for track. My best is yet to come and I’m willing to put in the work. 

In college, I am interested in furthering my education in chemistry. I enjoy the analytical component of chemistry and the fundamental thought process involved.
