Hello, my name is Townsend Barton.  I will graduate in 2022 from Carterville High School in Southern Illinois. I compete in the decathlon in track, wide receiver and safety in football, and a guard in basketball. I am 5’11”, 170 pounds to date.  Currently in the weight room, my max’s are: bench 225lbs, clean 235lbs, and squat 320lbs.  I competed in my 1st decathlon in August 2020 and scored over 5100 points.  Out of the 10 events, I competed in 5 of them for the 1st time ever. In summer 2021, I competed at USATF Nationals and set a new PR with 6377 points after also competing at The Nationals in Oregon (6288 points).

I am a driven, hard practicing multi-sport athlete with a commitment for success.  I have a strong work ethic that is contagious to my teammates.  I am a member of the First United Methodist Church and attend regularly with my family.  I spend my spare time and summers mowing and working on athletics.
