My name is Kathleen Baker and I am a junior at Barrington High School in Illinois. I am a 2022 sprinter who specializes in the 100, 200, 400, and 800. During my 8th grade year at state, I won the 200m and 400m. Continuing on with my freshman season I ran a 25.00- 200m, 12.06- 100m, and 58.1- 400m. My entire sophomore season was lost due to COVID. This upcoming season, I’m training with my HS and TNT Track Academy to pursue my goal times of 11.7- 100m, 24.0- 200m, and 55.0- 400m. Besides track, I also take great pride in my academics. I maintain a 4.25 cumulative GPA with a 31 ACT and will have completed ten AP courses by the time I graduate.  

 Personally, I have become a leader through my role as caption of Eclipse ECNL Soccer team. I have been an ECNL National finalist, DA top 8, and named all conference in my past 11 years playing soccer. Soccer has taught me important skills in leadership, hard work, and confidence. I believe I carry those same traits onto the track. I love to work hard, help my teammates reach their goals, and show my love for the sport. I believe my dedication and commitment would play an important role on any team. Additionally, I find it crucial to be a strong student in the classroom; therefore, I have been challenging myself with all AP and Honors course loads while also tutoring my classmates in my free time. Finally, I believe it is important to give back to your community.
