My name is Libby Maier and I am currently a sophomore at New Trier High School in Illinois as part of their class of 2024. During my freshman season, I was one of four freshmen selected to play for JV1. I play center back for New Trier and my club team, FC United. On my club team I am a captain and we are competing in National League. From an academic standpoint, I am taking all high honors classes, which are the most rigorous classes sophomores can take at New Trier,  and I have an unweighted GPA of 4.00 and a weighted GPA of 5.33. As an athlete and a leader, my goal this season is to lead my team to compete in Regionals. 

On the field, I am an excellent leader and with that I bring a strong vocal presence and sense of security and motivation to my team. In the back line, I am very reliable; I am quick, physical, great at 1v1 defending, and am excellent at reading the game. Also I have a very wide passing range, which opens up a whole new side of the game for my team in regards to how we move the ball. Whether it is switching it across the field or hitting 45+ yard long balls into the opponent’s box, my passing range is an extremely valuable asset to me and my team. I also have a strong aerial presence. Off the field I am an extremely motivated student and an active member of my community. I am a member of the Rush Junior Board, which helps raise money for Rush Women’s Hospital in Chicago. I am also active at my church; I went on an IMPACT mission trip to Tulsa Oklahoma with my church in June 2021.

Overall, I am a strong, dedicated person both on and off the field, who is always motivated to do more. I love taking on new challenges as a student and as an athlete and I am always looking for new opportunities.
