My name is Jackson Kottmeyer and I am a 2024 graduate from Kaneland High School in Maple Park, Illinois. I am currently 6’4” and weigh 175 pounds. I am a right handed pitcher who throws with a low three-quarter arm slot topping out at 83 mph. My fastball has slight run and my offspeed pitches have great movement. Over the past year and a half, I have started lifting with my brothers and have put on about 40 pounds. As my height and weight continue to grow, I have recognized that my pitching velocity has greatly improved as well. I hope to continue this growth throughout the rest of my high school career.

I am also very proud of academic accomplishments while in the classroom. I currently have a 3.96 grade point average on a 4.0 scale at Kaneland. I am currently taking 2 honors classes and have more scheduled during my Junior and Senior years. The honors classes that I have taken, and scheduled to take in the future, will help to better prepare me for the demand of my college academics.

As a pitcher, I pride myself on being able to perform under pressure. During my high school season, I typically pitched during our conference games. And during my summer-ball season, I was counted on to close games. I try to beat every batter that comes up, especially after the first time through the order. While working on and perfecting my offspeed pitches, I have found it much easier to compete with batters. I am also a versatile pitcher as I have experience in both starting and closing games. Even though starting a game and closing a game are different, I still have the same mentality of winning during each pitch. I am also very coachable, and willing to consider and incorporate suggestions or critiques into my pitching form. I am a team-first player and I enjoy playing for my teammates.

I would like to attend a college whose baseball program challenges me to grow both as a player and as an individual.
