My name is Abby Jackson. I am class of 2027 at University High School in Normal, IL. I compete in the 400m and occasionally the 800m. This past season I ran a PR of 56.37 in the 400m at sectionals and qualified for state. I split a time of 54.65 as anchor leg in the 4×4, and that time was the second fastest split in the state. I competed at the Morton distance gala and ran a 2:18. I also went on to compete at the AAU Junior Olympics, where I ran a 2:16 in the 800m. My goal is to run a 54.00 in the 400m, and a 2:10 in the 800m in the 2026 track season. 

I am very driven and focused which helps a lot when I’m practicing and competing with my teammates. My drive also motivates me to have a positive mindset and encourage my teammates as well. My work ethic on the track plays a big role in the classroom, I make sure to help out my friends as much as I can with studying, making sure assignments get done on time, and overall keeping grades up. It’s important to have time management when you are a student athlete, and I try to maintain that in my day to day.
