My name is Alyssa Garcia and I will be a part of the 2026 graduating class at Hampshire High School, Illinois. I have qualified for the IHSA state championship both my freshmen and sophomore year in the 4×8. I have additionally qualified for USATF and AUU nationals competing in the 800 and 4×4 those following summers as well. Having the opportunity to compete after my school season has not only given me the additional chance to improve my marks but compete with greater levels of competition and open up new possibilities to achieve my goals and beyond. I currently have PRs of a 58.18 in the 400 meter dash and 2:19.20 for the 800m while running a 2:20.8 in the 4×800 relay at the state finals as a sophomore. This year, I am looking to significantly improve these marks with goals of a 57.00 in the 400 and 2:15 in the 800 during my school season and surpassing these marks during my club season. Which I am confident I will be able to achieve as I have had new way of training this past fall with TNT Ignite.  

In terms of academics, I have taken a total of 6 AP courses, 3 of which I am still enrolled in as a current junior. I got accepted into National Honors Society as a sophomore, where I complete 60+ volunteer hours per year. I have a unweighted GPA of a 3.6/ 5.4 weighted, which I am on track to improve this semester with my current grades. As I am a varsity student athlete involved in National Honors Society, on the executive board for class council and student ambassadors, being apart of the small group of girls on the track& field leadership team, consistently volunteering, and working a part time job I am strongly aware of the commitment and dedication required to compete at the next level on a collegiate track and field team. As a leader in multiple aspects of my life, I serve as an example to those around me to put fourth your best effort in everything you do and to push through adversity to become the absolute best version of yourself on the track and in the classroom.
