My name is Ashley Banaszek. I am an incoming senior in high school at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois and will be graduating in the class of 2024. I currently have an 100.06 weighted GPA, including 5 AP’s taken and an additional 4 next year, and a 33 super score on the ACT. However, I plan to take the ACT once more in September. I am also the leader of a math and science based scholars program, I am in Spanish Honors Society, and have done exponential amounts of service. 

I am 5’10 and participate in triple jump, high jump, long jump, and the shorter sprints. My personal bests are 36’4 in the triple jump, 5’3 in the high jump, and 17’0 in the long jump. Some of my proudest moments have been being a conference champ multiple times, being all-sectional in class 3A in Iliinois, breaking the school record in the triple jump, and qualifying as part of the top 12 in both high jump and triple jump at Illinois Prep Top Times indoor state. Last season, I started off my indoor season jumping a seasons best of 35’5.5 for the 7th best jump in state at the time. However, I ended up getting stress fractures in both my shins and was unable to compete until the sectional meet where I placed 4th jumping 35’0 (after two practices prior coming off injury). Throughout the season, I continued to swim in the pool everyday and keep up my strength and endurance. Similarly, I experienced a stress fracture in my knee the outdoor season prior (2022 outdoor season) keeping me from competing most of the outdoor season at my fullest capacity and ultimately at the sectional and state meet. 

We have addressed my medical concerns (for example discovering I am anemic and incorporating supplements). I am hoping to work throughout this summer to reform and improve in my technique in the jumps, so I can further my personal bests and meet my goals (37+ in triple, 17+ in long, consistently 5’2+ in high jump, sub to mid 27 in 200, and a solid 400 time) this upcoming preseason and 2024 track season. 

I bring an energetic and determined attitude and am always up for a challenge. I also prioritize communication with coaches and other athletes. Also, I think I would fit the academics of the school because of my ambition to learn and discover passion for a career I can continue throughout my lifetime.
