My name is Rebecca Corbett, and I run cross country and track at Oswego High School. I will be graduating in 2022. I run the 3 mile in cross country, with a personal record of 17:06 and in track, I have a 2:24 PR in the 800, a 5:06 PR in the 1600, and a 11:40 PR in the 3200. I have a GPA of 3.83 and will continue to raise that junior year with AP and honors classes, accompanied with a score of 1280 on my PSAT, which put me near the top percentile across the US. With the upcoming cross country season, my goal is to improve upon my 23rd place finish freshman year and a 37th place finish sophomore year, to a top 15 position junior year. I also plan to go under 17:00 minutes this year. In track, my goal this past season was to break 5 minutes in the 1600 and hit under the 4:55 mark as well, in addition to improving my 3200 and individual 800 times. With the track season being unexpectedly cut short, I hope to improve upon these original goals even more, come the 2021 season.  

I always put forth my best effort and perform to the best of my abilities in athletics and academics. I have naturally always found myself stepping into a leadership role in many aspects of my life, whether it be on the team, clubs, or even in the classroom. The confidence that I have communicating with people has made me a better asset to my team and its dynamic. During the free time I have when I am not training or studying, I like to socialize with friends, and I also love nature, whether it is at the beach, on a hike, or swimming. I spend time in a school kindness and leadership club, BIONIC, (Believe It Or Not I Care), which is a club that allows me to interact and lead the peers at my school as well as the people in my community. In addition, I like to participate in my church senior high youth group that participates in a variety of activities ranging from feeding the homeless in our own town, going to Chicago to help those in need, and venturing around different areas of the country to help people rebuild their lives. I also enjoy spending time with my family, especially when we travel.
