Hello, my name is Collin Ryan and I compete in the Class of 2026 at Prospect High School in Illinois. I have a genuine love for the sport and a desire to continue to compete. I have competed for six years and enjoy making goals, seeing improvements, and applying those to competitive events. My personal bests include 15:01 in the 3 mile, 9:40 in the 3200, and 4:33 in the 1600. I am planning and working towards improvements this season. My goals are to run a sub 9:40 in the 3200 meter, a low 4:20 in the 1600 meter, and 1:58 in the 800.   

As improvements came and expectations grew, I rose to them. In my sophomore year, I earned the most improved runner. By my junior year, I ran state and earned a place on my school’s record board for 11th of all time in the 3 mile. I was given the Golden Spike award, which acknowledges athletes who demonstrate competitive spirit. As an athlete, I always enjoy the teamwork and pushing each other to compete together. I value celebrating individual and team successes. The most enjoyable race for me is having a lot of people vying for positions, opportunities to pass, and difficult conditions. Better yet, is moving through the field with a teammate. Testing my limits is where I thrive.  

As a student, I am most engaged through experiential and hands-on learning. I have had the opportunity to participate in summer service programs where you learn by engaging with a diverse group of kids in new environments, working together to apply new skills.
