My name is Danny Keating. I am currently at the start of my senior year at Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois and will graduate in 2024. I’ve ran track for about 3 years and started to take it seriously after last years football season. I was constantly injured from a broken wrist freshman year, to a broken collarbone my sophomore year, never being able to have a full track season until last year. I currently run in the 55m/60m, 100m, and the 200m. I have recently joined an AAU team called TNT coached by Brandon Stryganek who is a sprints coach who ran at Illinois. I’m specially training for track and learning more and more about how to improve my mechanics and form to get my times down. This season I’ve ran a 7.40s-60m, 11.54-100m, 23.61-200m and also ran as the anchor in the 4×1 and start the 4×2. I’ve dropped half a second in the 100m and 1.1 seconds from my 200m from last year thanks to TNTs help. As I keep working with TNT I hope to reach below a 11.00-100, 22.4-200 my senior year. While working hard on the track, off the track I ended last semester with a 2.9 GPA. I haven’t taken the ACT yet but I will be working hard with my tutor to get a good score this September.   

As I said previously, this was one of my first full seasons of track. I was constantly injured in football with a broken wrist freshman year and a broken collarbone sophomore year. Ever since then I’ve been fully committed to track getting stronger and healthy to do my best and of course have a fun time with my teammates and coaches. I’ve met some of my best friends through track and really enjoy my coach who really cares about my physical and mental health.
