My name is Finn Schirmer and I will be graduating from Marengo HS in 2020. Running has never come quickly to me, but I’ve enjoyed sprints and hurdles since junior high. I love the hurdles and sprints because it is challenging and you get to destroy your competition in such little time. As a sophomore, I ran the 100m dash, the 200m dash, the 110 HH, and the 4×400. I ran a personal record in three of the individual events by running a 10.69 in the 100m, a 21.83 in the 200m and a 14.12 in the 110 Hurdles, This upcoming junior season I will be running the 300 IH, and my goal is to win state in all my events.

I devoted myself to developing an athletic centered lifestyle by committing to a strict workout schedule and participating in sports activities my entire life. I have always pushed myself, even in the classroom. I have a 3.2 GPA, and I am currently enrolled in college business class through McHenry County College. I am also a Freshman Mentor which is a program through our school to help the freshman adapt to high school life. 

Above all, I am a good sportsman and honestly believe that everyone on a team has an equal role. I respect the fierce competition, and I am a leader on my team. I am passionate about winning and am dedicated to preparation. I am really into live music and, as the second born, I enjoy spending time with my three siblings: Alex, Raphael, and Aurelia. I’ve lived my whole life between my mother’s home in Marengo, IL and my father’s home in Downers Grove, IL.
