My name is Georgia Burne and I will be graduating in the class of 2027 from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. I am a dedicated student athlete with a 5.01 weighted and 3.88 unweighted GPA, 35 ACT score, and two track records in both hurdle events at my school. Although I started track my sophomore year of high school, due to a prior commitment to field hockey,  it quickly became an extremely important part of my life. During my junior year, I committed a lot of time to track and reached my current PRs and competed in the 2026 IHSA 3A State Division. I ended my junior season with a time of 15.06s in the 100m hurdles and 44.85s in the 300m hurdles. My goals for my senior year are 14.30s and 43.00s in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, respectively. I also plan to run in meets over the summer to compete in the 400m hurdles. 

Alongside track and field, I am a member of the New Trier Varsity Field Hockey Team and help coach the upcoming freshmen and get them familiar with our program. I am also a member of New Trier Girl’s Club that helps raise money for the New Trier Trust Fund. The fund provides need-based scholarships to graduating students to help finance their education beyond high school. We raise money by running concessions at sports games and organizing fundraisers. I consistently approach all aspects of my life with determination and curiosity and I am passionate about helping others and giving back to my community. 

My goal is to attend a college where I can continue to develop myself athletically and academically. I am interested in the field of biochemical engineering. I am excited to build meaningful connections with peers who are as passionate as I am. I look forward to further pursuing my interests of sports, engineering, and many other hobbies.
