My name is Grant Jensen and I am in the graduating class of 2019. I am a middle distance runner that mainly competes in the 800m at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I ran a personal record of 1:53.32 at the end of my sophomore year at the Midwest Distance Classic. I am 6’4″ and 175 pounds, I also have above a 4.0 GPA and am looking to major in engineering. By my senior year, my goal is to go sub 1:50 in the 800m and I see this as a very real possibility.

In college, I could bring the team points in the 800m, and also be a strong member of the team in the 4×800 & 4×400. I challenge myself in school, having taken many honors classes and enrolling in many more AP classes. I used to play competitive soccer and basketball for many years until I started realizing that track should be my main focus. I attend mass virtually every Sunday and I am a caddy at Crystal Lake Country Club and have been for 3 years. I am also going to be competing in my first season of high school cross country in the fall and could not be more excited.

Overall, I am very eager to run at the Division 1 level and be an integral part to the team I compete for. As time goes on, I will only get better, and I hope this can be easily recognized by more people than just me. For more information, please email me at grantjensen2019@gmail.com.
