My name is Isa Hasty. I am a class of 2026 track and cross country athlete for William Fremd High School. I hold a 17:56 3 mile PR and a 5:13 1600 PR. During both my 2023 and 2024 cross country seasons, I qualified individually for the Illinois 3A State Cross Country Meet. I also take my academics very seriously. I have a 3.909 unweighted GPA and 4.887 weighted GPA, as well as a 1480 SAT score. My goals for my junior year track season are to run a 5:10 mile or faster, in order to qualify for the state meet in this event.  

I have participated in track and cross country since my freshman year of high school. Since starting these sports, I have made significant improvements to my times. I believe that in order to succeed, it is important to work hard and stay consistent. Because of this, I make sure to hold myself accountable and work hard every single day, and encourage my teammates to do the same. On my cross country team, my combination of working hard and encouraging younger athletes to be their best has led me to be the team MVP for both my 2023 and 2024 cross country seasons. In my life outside of running, I am a lifeguard for the Palatine Park District. This job has helped me to further advance my leadership skills, by teaching me to be assertive in keeping the public safe. I also participate in FIRST Robotics, a competition where teams work together to build and code robots. Robotics helps me to grow my skills as a team member and work with others. I am very interested in biology, and hope to major in this subject in college.
