Jack Bell

2019 LHP from Minooka Community HS

My name is Jack Bell.  I am a 2019 left-handed pitcher from Minooka Community High School in Minooka, Illinois.  As a Junior, I have appeared 12 times as a reliever during our 2018 Spring Varsity Season.  I currently have recorded 3 wins and 3/3 saves, with a 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio.   I am currently enrolled in two weighted classes, Honors Chemistry and dual credit college courses History 103 and 104 through Joliet Junior College.  My current GPA is 3.3 and my PSAT score was 1100.  During my sophomore year I was a Library/Computer Lab aide for my high school.  This year I am a Career Center aide.  My goal as a student athlete is to continue my success in pitching at the high school varsity level and take it to the collegiate level.  Academically, my goal is to finish out my junior year strong.  I will be taking the SAT in the near future.  As a senior, I am enrolled in four dual credit college courses.  When I graduate high school, I will have earned fifteen college credit hours through my high school coursework.

My passion for baseball developed at a very young age and has only grown stronger as the years have passed.  I understand the dedication and hard work that goes into being a good player on an individual level and a great teammate.  I am dedicated to self-improvement as well as assisting my teammates with their development.  Having a strong foundation is crucial in building a strong team.

Growing up, my parents taught me the importance of being a good person, making good choices and selflessness.  I try to live into this daily.  During my educational career, I have volunteered my time working with students with specials needs.  Currently, I am involved in fundraising activities supporting a not-for-profit organization, Miracles For Mya.  The organization was created in memory of my eleven year old cousin who lost her battle with neuroblastoma last year.  Watching her battle cancer from a very young age until the time she passed was a very difficult thing to experience, but being involved with the organization formed in her memory has been very rewarding for me.  In addition to school, athletics, volunteering and spending time with my family and friends, I have also been working at a family owned restaurant in my hometown for the past year.  My job has further developed my communication skills and experience working with the public.  I work at different positions at the restaurant and help out training new employees.

As a college student, I feel that it is important for me to utilize the skills I have developed and build on those skills as I prepare to enter the workforce after graduation.  I am excited for the opportunity to continue my education, continue volunteering, meet new people and experience all college has to offer.  I appreciate your time and consideration.  For more information, please email me at jacknbell2019@gmail.com.
