My name is Jack Roberts, class of 2023 and I run Cross Country and Track for Lincoln-Way East Community High School. My Current PR’s I ran as a sophomore, my cross-country 3-mile is 15:43, during track I ran 4:30 for the 1600, 10:13 in the 3200, and 2:02 in the 800. My freshman year I ran at the 2019 State Finals for cross Country and would have run in the 2020 state final my sophomore year but it was canceled because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. My goals for my junior Cross-Country season are to run 15:00-14:50 in the three mile by the end of post season. For the upcoming track season my goals are to run 4:15 in the 1600, 9:15 3200 and 1:59 in the 800. My senior year I expect to be running times such as 14:15 in Cross-Country. In track I want to run 4:10 in the 1600, 9:10 in the 3200, and 1:56 in the 800. I think hitting the times I just mentioned by my senior year is a real possibility, I will continue to work hard and refuse to give up until my goals are met.

Ever since I started running in 7^th grade, I always wanted to be the best athlete on the track and from that mindset I have learned that consistency is what makes a great athlete. Over the years I have worked to not only reach my goals but to help lead my team towards our goals to make us stronger and more unified as a team. My current GPA is 2.75 I finished my sophomore year with a 3.0 average GPA and I will continue to climb and work harder than I have ever before. I was chosen to become a P.E. Leader, which allows me to work with my classmates during class to lead and advise them to the best of my ability. I have also been involved with multiple community service events throughout the years to further improve and help my community.
