My name is Katie Peetz and I am a part of the class of 2027 at Lockport Township High School in Lockport, Illinois. I am a 5’10” multi-sport athlete, who participates in cross country, track and field, and basketball. My cross country and track PRs are 800-2:23, 1600-5:13, 3200-11:33 (ran only freshman year), and 3 mile-17:58. I have been all conference in the 4×800 3 times, the 1600 3 times, the 3200 1 time, and in the 3 mile twice. My cross country team also won our conference championship in 2024. I have qualified for state in track and field in the 3200 my freshman year and in the 4×800 my sophomore year. I have also qualified for state in cross country in the 3 mile my junior year. My goals for my junior year track season include 800-2:18, 1600-5:06, 3200-sub 11, and qualify for state in the 1600. My goals for my senior cross country season include qualifying for state and running a sub 17:30 3 mile.

In addition to running, I am a three year starter on my school’s varsity basketball team and achieved all-conference honors my sophomore year, where I helped lead our team to our first conference title since 1986 and our first regional championship since 2018. Since seventh grade, I have played AAU basketball for Illinois Lady Lightning and have competed in tournaments throughout the country in the spring and summer. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Outside of school and sports, I work at my school’s Community Wellness Center which helps to teach me different responsibilities, while being a part of the community. Aside from my extracurriculars, I have a weighted GPA of 4.594 and an unweighted GPA of 3.969. I have taken seven AP classes in order to challenge myself academically.

I am a very dedicated and hardworking individual who has played sports from a young age. Sports have taught me many valuable lessons of leadership and organization that have led to my academic and athletic success. I would love to continue to pursue my cross country/track and field career at the collegiate level. For more information, please email me at katiepeetz2027@gmail.com.
