Hello, my name is Logan Salzmann, a junior in the class of 2024 who runs cross country and track for Kimberly High School in Wisconsin. As a junior having just finished my cross country season, I have a personal best of 15:37 for 5000 meters in cross country while also having earned all-state honors in my sophomore and junior seasons. In track, I have indoor personal bests of 4:26 for 1600 meters and 9:38 for 3200 meters but unfortunately was not able to compete in my outdoor season due to injury. In the upcoming season, I hope to break 4:15 in the 1600, run under 9:15 in the 3200, and also run under 1:58 in the 800, helping my team in any way I am asked to do so. Although these may seem to be ambitious goals, I have full confidence in my work ethic and abilities in being able to achieve them. I know that if I am healthy these goals and more are very possible in the future.

Throughout my entire athletic and academic career I have focused on not only being the best athlete I can be but also the best person and teammate that I can be. I currently have a 4.60 GPA and am ranked 6th out of 396 weighted and 1st out of 396 unweighted in a very competitive and top-rated high school in the state. As a teammate, I have been a part of two very large teams, both consisting of more than 100 people. I worked on taking time to get to know every teammate and their interests to build the best team environment I could while also finding the best ways to motivate my teammates. Some goals I have for the future include graduating first in my class, competing on a state 4×800 team, scoring above 32 on my ACT and 1400 on my SAT, and one-day graduating college and completing law school.

I look forward to challenging myself throughout my final two years of high school and continuing to find ways to better myself.
