I am Luke Robinson, and I compete in Cross Country and Track at Prospect High School, Mount Prospect, Illinois. I am in the class of 2026.  After I started my cross country career in 6th grade, I fell in love with the sport ever since. But, in high school, my career has since taken off, improving my times every year, and I have personal bests of 15:01.4 in the 3 miles, 15:46.1 in the 5k, 9:50.98 in the 3200 meters, and 4:30 in the 1600 meter. This upcoming track season, my goals are to run a sub 9:30 in the 3200 meter and a low to sub 4:20 in the 1600 meter. Some of my accomplishments running-wise are winning the sophomore MVP, postseason MVP, Elite Medal of Sportsmanship, and the team character award.  Also, I am in the school’s National Honor Society.  

As an athlete, I always look to compete but also build up others around me. When it comes to competing, it starts in the offseason and at practice, where I look to build a foundation for when it comes to race time, and at the meets, I always want to score for my team to help us win the race. But, at practice, there is more to just competing. It also helps to build up others around you every day. I go around and make sure all my teammates are doing well, and during workouts, I enjoy running with them because it not only prepares us for races but also helps us gain chemistry, knowing we can run together at any time. Finally, for schooling, I am looking to major in sports management with a minor in sports journalism. To do these two things, I take multiple business-related classes at Prospect, as well as being a sports reporter for KnightMedia.  

I am looking forward to the process to help improve my running career. Running is very important to me, and I cannot wait to take it to the next level.
