My name is Mackenzie Brownrigg, and I am a junior at Lincoln-Way Central High School.  I run cross country and track and field and would like to further my running career by performing at the collegiate level.

I am currently a three-time varsity runner in cross country and a two time varsity runner in track and field.  I have qualified for state in cross country every season over the course of three seasons (twice as a team and once as an individual).  This past cross country season, I was Pre-Conference, Conference, and Regional champion.  I finished the season with a personal record of 17:45.  Additionally, I qualified for state in track and field for the 4×800 meters my freshman year.  During the 2017 track and field season, I achieved personal records in the 1600 meters (5:23) and in the 800 meters (2:23).

Furthermore, I am also successful in relation to academics.  For the past three years, I have taken all honors classes that are available and have received straight A’s.  Currently, along with all honors classes, I am taking three AP courses: AP Government, AP Economics, and AP Language.  Moreover, I hold a 4.563 GPA based on a 4.0 scale.  For the 2017 track and field season, I received the award for highest GPA.  I have also received the High Honor Roll award the past three years.

On top of being an academic athlete, I volunteer and help with many leader programs.  I am currently a member of the National Honor Society and of my school’s Writing Center, where I assist other students with writing assignments.  I am also a Student Ambassador at my school; I help freshman and transfers get from class to class until they feel comfortable on their own.  Moreover, I often help my church during Youth Group sessions on Wednesday nights. For more information, please email me at mackenziebrownrigg2019@gmail.com.
