Hi! I’m Madeline Andelbradt, class of 2022 at Naperville North High School in Illinois. I am a transfer student and I previously attended St. Francis College Preparatory for my first two years of high school. I have been a varsity athlete for jumps, relays, mid-distance, and cross country since my freshman year. I currently have a PR of 5’6 for high jump. As a freshman, I won every normal season Varsity meet, placed second in my conference, second in sectionals, and fifth in the state for 2A. I am 5’5/120lbs. I train for cross country in the summer and fall. I also work on sprints, weight-training, and jumps with my club coach Robert Cervenka of Jump High, in winter, spring, and fall.  My main goal for the upcoming season is to increase my PR by one to two inches and place in the top three in 3A state. 

My top strength is my ambition, which pushes me day by day to achieve my goals. My freshman year I started to grow interested in being a potential heptathlete since I not only excel in the high jump but also have skills in the 800, 200, and long jump. I do not just compete for myself, I love to cheer on and support my teammates. I was voted to be captain of the varsity track team at St. Francis College Preparatory my sophomore year shortly after the season was canceled due to COVID-19. Growing up I have always had an interest in sports. I started by playing basketball and softball in first grade and worked my way up to playing five sports in junior high: cross country, track, volleyball, basketball, and softball. If I was not competing, I would be at my older brother’s sporting events cheering him on.  Outside of sports, I love to continue to help others. I was a peer tutor my sophomore year. I spend free time with my elderly neighbors either helping them with tasks they can no longer do or baking treats for them. I enjoy babysitting for friends and family. 

I have known that I wanted to compete at the collegiate level since I started to high jump in 6th grade. My goal is to join a program that will improve my overall skill set and help me grow as a person.
