My name is Max Elder and I am a Track and Cross Country student-athlete at Northridge Prep, class of 2023. I officially began both Track and Cross Country as an eighth-grader, however, freshman year is when I decided to devote more time and interest as these sports became a growing passion of mine. As a junior, I hold personal bests of 15:40 for 3 miles, 9:57 for 3200m, 4:31 for 1600m, and 2:03 for 800m. Since freshman year, Cross Country has presented me with 3 State meet opportunities, all of which I qualified for, as well as qualifying for the 3200m in track as a sophomore. Additionally, I have earned USATF All-American status twice in Cross Country. My goals for the end of high school include running the 1600m under 4:20, 3200m under 9:30, 800m in 1:55, and  15:10 for the 3 mile. 

All through high school I have battled many difficult athletic setbacks and obstacles, which have assisted me in developing the mental strength and confidence which I now possess. One of my favorite accomplishments was being named team captain as a junior. Having had admirable role models early on in high school, I understand and value the impact of a good leader. I strive to impact and appeal to my teammates in a respectable and  reputable manner. Outside of practices and meets, I value the friendships my teammates and I have established. Aside from running, a top priority of mine is education. All through high school I have achieved honor-roll status while taking AP and honors classes. I enjoy spending my time working with under-privileged families and writing for the school newspaper.

As my high school career begins to wind down, I look forward to achieving my goals while contributing to my team. While I love running, I also look forward to finding the right college which challenges me academically.
