My name is Megan Patton, I am a junior and 2018 graduate of Plainfield North HS in Plainfield, IL, and I run cross country and distance track. In addition to being team captain and finishing 42nd in the 3A state championships this past cross country season, I have a weighted GPA of 5.76/5.0 with a 31 ACT and 1490 SAT. By the end of this year, I would like to drop my 3200 time to under 11:00 and maintain my grades to one day study biochemistry.

This past fall, I was all-conference, all-regional, and all-sectional, and ran 17:39 for 3 miles in the state meet. I was also team captain and won the Tiger Award for running for the team and hard work. I also won the Tiger Award in the 2016 track season. Last spring, I dropped my 3200 time from 11:44 to 11:15, and ran in the Illinois Prep Top Times meet in the 4×800. This past indoor season, I ran in the same meet in the 3200. Academically, I have a weighted GPA of 5.76/5.0, and am currently enrolled in 4 AP classes and 2 Honors classes, including AP Calculus AB. My ACT was a 31 this past December, and I recently took the SAT as well. In addition to school and running, I am in Link Crew, a leadership club at Plainfield North that focuses on freshmen and middle school students. I am also very involved at my church, both in the youth group and volunteering to work with toddlers on Sunday mornings.
