My name is Mia Bagato and I am a part of the graduating class of 2027 at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois. My PRs are 400m-59.70, 800m-2:16, 3 miles-18:20. I joined cross country this year for the first time and dropped 40 seconds from my first meet to the state meet. I feel I have only just begun my cross-country journey with an opportunity for significant improvement in the Fall of 2026. For track, I ran the 4×400 relay at the 2023 IHSA state track meet. My goals for the Junior year track season are to run a sub 2:15 while becoming All-State, and to run sub 58.5 in the 400m.  

I take my academics as seriously as my training. I hold a 4.5 cumulative GPA, received a 4.8 GPA last semester and have completed AP and Honors courses. I am very involved in my school community where I am a Shield Mentor to freshmen, as well as a Freshman and Sophomore Retreat Leader. I serve as the Co-President of Spanish Club and Co-VP of the Women STEAM club. I am also a member of Best Buddies, Key Club, and Multimedia Club.  

Outside of running, I have dedicated time in service for others – this past summer, I served more than 50 hours in Lourdes, France helping assist the sick and elderly. I have also volunteered regularly at a local food pantry where I have been able to practice my Spanish.   

In college, I plan on pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish. I am disciplined, driven, and goal-oriented and look forward to pursuing my academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level while fostering new friendships with teammates. For more information, please email me at miabagato2027@gmail.com.
