Hello, my name is Miles Lechtenberg, and I am from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I currently attend Lincoln High School and am part of the Class of 2026. I compete in the 1600m, 3200m, and 5k events. My personal bests are 4:25 in the 1600m, 9:33 in the 3200m, and 15:13 in the 5k. I am the Metro Conference Champion in both the 1600m and 3200m, and I have been a two-time team state champion and two time all state in cross country. As well as a one-time team state champion in track and field. I was also named Cross Country MVP and have earned the Most Outstanding Athlete award for my class in both 2023 and 2024 in track and field. This track season, my goals are to win a state title individually and achieve times of 4:14 in the 1600m and sub-9:00 in the 3200m. Additionally, I am eager to qualify for the Arcadia Invitational in the 3200m and the Hoka Festival of Miles. 

I have been running varsity since my freshman year, and since then, I have developed a deep passion for the sport. I am interested in pursuing a career in exercise science and nutrition, and I am currently involved in a running study through Avera Sports Science and Research.  

In the classroom, I maintain a 3.5 unweighted GPA. I am also an active member of the Best Buddies, Patriot Pride Committee, and SALSA clubs at my school. I look forward to the future and am fully committed to both my academic and athletic development. My philosophy is to improve by 1% every day, continually challenging myself to be the best I can be.
