I am Molly McGreal (Class of 2026) a 2x All-State runner. A senior  at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois,  I previously attended Trinity High School (an all-girls catholic school) where I maintained a 4.3  GPA (on a 4.0 scale), was a full member in the International Baccalaureate program (honors / AP equivalent), a member of the National Honors Society, and a leader in many school organizations, including Environmental Club President.  

This past cross country season I ran 17:35 at the IHSA State Cross Country Championship meet earning All-State honors as I did sophomore year, placing 8th. I went on to run at NXR Midwest both years.  

Continuing my success in cross country, I have qualified for the Track State Championship every year… as a Freshman on the 4×800 team, in the 3200m as a sophomore, and in the 1600m and 3200m this past season. I have placed in the top 20 in the 2mi both years.  Postseason this year, I won the Magis Miles High School Division 1600m with a PR of 5:05. 

I have transferred to York HS this year and am grateful to have the unique opportunity  to compete for the 2025 IHSA Cross Country State Championship team title and qualify for NXN. While committed to doing whatever the team needs from me for our goals, I aim to place in the top 10 at State and break the 17-minute barrier. 

Running has been much more than just a sport for me but a way to connect. The passion, commitment, and joy I have for running translates to many aspects of my life, especially academics and friendships.
