My name is Nick Falk. I am currently a junior running cross country and track for New Trier High School in Illinois. I have current prs of 4:20 in the 1600m, 9:08 in the 3200m and 2:01 in the 800m. In cross country, I have run a 14:51 3 mile and a 15:46 5k. I also placed 4th at the Illinois 3A “state” meet in 2020. My goals for the track season are 4:10 in the 1600m, 9:00 in the 3200m, and 1:57 in the 800m. By the end of my high school career, my goal is to break the school records of 4:09 in the 1600m and 8:55 in the 3200m. In cross country, my goals are to win the Illinois State Championship and also earn All-American status.

My high-school team has also been just as important as my individual performance. This year, our team placed 4th at the state meet, the highest finish since 1962. I built a truly special connection with my teammates over the last 3 years that I will always cherish. Encouraging and pushing my teammates every day in practice has been vital to our success.

In the classroom, I am a dedicated and hard working student as well. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.35. Every class I have taken has either been honors or high honors. I have also been honor roll every semester of high school.

Outside of school, I am part of the broadcasting club, where I host a sports podcast with two other classmates. The podcast is called The Engine or NJN for our initials and we talk about basketball and football every week. We took advantage over quarantine by interviewing several interesting sports figures like NBA Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups, NFL annoncer Ian Eagle, and Sports announcer Jason Benetti. I am a member of RunBeCAUSE which is a club outside of the school that organizes a race  and other fundraisers to support a charity of our choice. I also participate in Boys and Girls club, which is a social service club at New Trier.
