I am Rebecca Wu and will be graduating in 2024. I am currently studying at Neuqua Valley High School where I compete on the Varsity Girls Golf team. Even though I appreciate the independence of golf, I enjoyed the team experience of competition which I hope to continue in college. The most impressive scores I contributed to the team were a 74 during IHSA Sectionals at Village Green Golf Course and an 80 during DV Conference at Phillips Park Golf Course in my sophomore season. Individually, I compete in many tournaments under MAJGT, the Mid-American Junior Golf Association, where I shot my record of 1 over par at Sanctuary Golf Course this spring. In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I perform well in challenging classes in school allowing me to accumulate a current GPA of 4.3, which I plan to improve during the rest of my high school years. This year, my athletic goal is to shoot under par and compete as the top varsity player on my high school team. My current efforts are ultimately devoted to playing golf in a top division for college.

My swing coach claimed to have never met anyone who could adjust and adapt as well as I did. I am efficient in recognizing any problems in my game and fixing them accordingly. Because of this, I can guarantee progress and growth as an athlete and student. Off-campus, I live a full and interesting life. I indulge in many hobbies of mine which include drawing and working out. Through creating art, I gained an insight into content creating and working with different social media platforms. Interacting with different people online and in-person became much easier and more enjoyable. Fitness was originally an obligation I fulfilled for golf but soon became an activity that I wanted to do for my health and physique. By training in front of others, I built my confidence and focused on my self-improvement.

My experiences and abilities make me an adequate candidate for college-level golf. I am eager to strengthen my skills and mindset through new competitive challenges as I get closer to graduation.
