My name is Rex Hallam and I am a student athlete at Richland County High School in Illinois and I will be in the graduating class of 2025. I compete in long and triple jump along with the 4×1 and 4×2 relays. At 6 ‘5 I have jumped 22’ 2ft in the long jump and 43 ‘4ft. My sophomore season I placed 6th in the state in the long jump and qualified for triple jump and I also ran the 4×1 and 4×2 at state. I placed 3rd at Illinois Top Times in the long jump. I also won the long jump and placed 2nd in the triple jump at the USATF Illinois State Championships. At the USATF Regionals meet, I won the long and triple jump and qualified for nationals.

Some of my goals of junior season are breaking both long and triple jump school records and winning both of them in state. I plan to be jumping 23ft in the long jump and 45ft+ in the triple jump. Academics are another very important priority in my life. I currently have a 4.93 GPA, but I am working to obtain a 5.1 GPA. I am taking multiple dual credit classes and plan to take weighted classes in the future. I am also a member of The National Society of High School Scholars. I will be a 2 year returning starter for the basketball team and earned 2x all tournament recognition and will be a team captain for my junior year. The lessons I have obtained through basketball and track include leadership, coming in everyday with a positive attitude and hard work.
