2023 XC/Track Athlete from Bishop Fenwick HS

 

My name is Sam Gutzwiller and I am a Cross Country and Long Distance Track runner in the 2023 class at Bishop Fenwick High School. I have a PR of 16:48 in Cross Country and am an individual state qualifier in Ohio. In Track, I have a 4:37 1600m and a 10:00 3200m (School Record). I am consistently a first honors student at my school with a 3.8 cumulative unweighted GPA. For this upcoming spring, I will take the ACT and look to continue to drop times. My goals for the 2022 track season include a 4:30 mile and 9:45 two mile. 

I think I would be a great fit for your program because of my ability to outwork those around me. I have only been running for two years and know that I have just hit the tip of the iceberg when it comes to running. People describe me as a leader during and outside of running. I put my best into my faith, school, and most importantly running. I have worked a part-time job and am heavily involved in the campus ministry life at my school, both of which have helped me stay grounded outside of Cross Country and Track.
