My name is Trey Mygatt and I am a member of the class of 2024. I run track and cross country at Mount Vernon Township High School in Mount Vernon, Illinois. I am a three year state finalist in track with an individual event as well as relays. As of my junior year I have run the following times: 3 miles 15:36, 1600m 4:46, 800m 1:57, 400m 52.64.  Throughout my career as a track athlete I have been more of a middle distance/800 specialist. My junior year was a struggle with sickness and minor injuries making my times and improvement less substantial than I had hoped.  However, I intend on improving my times with this coming season and my goals are as shown. 3 miles 15:00, 1600m 4:20, 800m 1:54, 400m 50.80.

One thing that is common knowledge from anyone that knows me is I am a leader on and off the track. My cross country team lacked upperclassmen since my sophomore year so I took up the role of leader. It is a position that I am very comfortable and confident in. I have been to many leadership conferences and am well versed in many aspects of leading. I also desire to be coached. Being coachable is something I hold at a very high value. Outside of sports I am a member of the National Honors Society where I regularly perform community service. I also am the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes within my school where I get the opportunity to lead weekly devotions and other activities with a small group. I am also a hardworking individual who balances my sport with my schoolwork. As of right now I have a 4.036 GPA on a 4 point scale, as well as being enrolled in a few more AP classes this coming year. Hard work does not scare me in the slightest, if anything I thrive in it. 

With the years to come I cannot wait to grow, learn, and become a great athlete as well as a better person overall.
