My name is Ty Hunt and I am in the Class of 2027. I am 6 ‘2 and 175 lbs. I am R/R and play shortstop on my high school and travel ball team. I go to Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois and I play for the 16u Illinois Braves.  

My biggest assets that I bring to my team on the defensive side is my long range left and right as well as my quick feet and hands, which make handling difficult plays a lot more simple. I also have a big range when it comes to tracking down infield fly balls. On the offensive side, I bring the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field and hit the ball hard no matter where it goes. My personal favorite is right center, because it gives me the best chance to show off my speed for a triple or maybe even an inside the park homerun. When you really break it down, my main goal when at the plate is to get on base, whether that means work a high pitch walk, a bunt, or a hit. Another thing I truly believe in is when you put the ball in play good things happen. With that being said, I always sprint out of the box on any ball I hit with the intention of making it on base safely.  

On the academic side, I strive to be the top in my group whether that is just my class, or the whole school. In my freshman year, I held a 4.0 GPA, and currently in my sophomore year I hold a 3.98 unweighted GPA (17/312) and a 4.19 (24/312) weighted GPA. Some of my favorite classes are math and science, and my favorite electives are Culinary Arts and Woodworking.  

Some things that I can confidently say I can bring to a team is my high baseball IQ, my love and passion for the game, my teamwork and bonding skills, along with many other attributes to being a good teammate and athlete. My other hobbies outside of baseball include football, track and field, and just hanging out with my friends and teammates.
