My name is Tyler Marchert, and I am part of the 2021 graduating class from Lincoln-Way East High School. I throw discus as well as shot put at the varsity level. My PR in discus is 160’7” while in shot put my PR is 50’1” with the glide and 49.17 using the spin technique. My goal is to reach 170’ in discus as well as 52’ in shot put this summer. Academically, my goal throughout the rest of high-school is to maintain honor roll, improve my grades, and increase my GPA.

As a multi-sport athlete, I have been a captain of my volleyball team and was chosen to be a junior leader for the football team.  I have been assisting the throwing coach at my former junior high for the past two seasons. I enjoy being able to help others become more successful on and off the field.  I have been able to balance school, track, and working as a busser at Giordano’s in Mokena while also enjoying my social life where I often play basketball, football, or lift weights with my friends.

I have recently joined a throwing club and plan to attend at least two college camps this summer in order to improve my form and technique which will allow me to increase my distances. I am challenging myself to learn hammer throw and possibly compete in the near future. I plan to compete in the Junior Olympics for the third time.
