My name is Vince Davero and I am a student athlete at Downers Grove North High School, and will be graduating with the 2024 class. I compete in long and triple jump while also running the 4x400m relay. I am looking forward to participating in other events as well in the future. My athletic ability has given me the opportunity to compete in these events at a high level. Sophomore year I placed 6th in state with a 45’3 foot jump in triple, and slightly missed the qualifying mark in long jump with a 21’11.5 jump as my best. I also helped qualify the 4x400m relay for state prelims with 51.2 being my best split. Over the next year as a junior, I plan to jump 48’0/23’0 and then senior year 50’0/23’6 and win state championships in both long and triple jump. 

Academics are another important priority in my life. I currently have a 3.85 gpa, but am working to improve to a 4.1 by the end of the year. I have challenged myself during highschool through taking multiple honors and AP classes. I am a member of the National Honors Society which allows top class students to contribute to their community. I also play football and am a part of the leadership council within the team. I have played multiple positions and am the top returning receiver for next year. I am working to receive the honors of captain next season and help lead my team to the playoffs once again. The lessons I have learned through track and football have taught me to work hard and stay disciplined. These experiences have led to my success in sports and growth over the years. 

 I am hoping that my hard work with sports and academics will allow me to compete at the next level. While also finding an environment that advances me in my future growth as a student athlete.I hope that the work I have put in and the successes I have had will heighten my chances at becoming a collegiate athlete.
