My name is William Frohling, and I attend Shorewood High School in Shorewood, Wisconsin. I will graduate in 2023, and I compete in the 400m, 800m, and 5k races. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) throughout high school and achieved a 35 composite score on the ACT. On the track, I recently ran 1:58.49 for an indoor 800m. Last year, as a sophomore, I ran 2:03 in the 800m and 53.82 in the 400m.  I have been working with both a strength coach and a running coach during the off season, and I plan to run under 1:56 and under 50.0 this year.

One of my strongest attributes as an athlete is my versatility. I am able to compete in a wide variety of events, ranging from the 400m all the way to the 5k, bringing potential to achieve success in both the long and middle distances. In addition to the track times mentioned above, I achieved First Team All-Conference status in cross country last Fall, finishing third at the conference meet in a time of 16:36 on a challenging course. I also finished 18th overall for Division 2 at the Wisconsin State Cross Country Championships, helping my team win the championship.

I pride myself in working well and competing well with others. My 4×400 and 4×800 teams ran at state last year. I ran anchor on the 4×800 team and also helped our 4×400 team finish fourth overall. I also am able to help my teammates and bring a good mentality and leadership role to any team. I have brought those skills to bear when serving as a co-captain of my school’s track and cross country teams. 

Outside of athletics, I am a strong and motivated student. I have achieved straight A’s each semester, including in multiple AP classes. I also have been involved in a wide variety of extracurriculars, including Guatemala Club, Math Club, and Math Counts. I also have been engaged in community service projects, such as taking part in organized yard cleanups each Spring and Fall for elderly and disabled residents in my community.
