My name is Will Gelon and I am a part of the class of 2024. I run Track and Cross Country at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois. After the conclusion of my junior year, I have personal records of 4:18.06 in the 1600, 9:33 in 3200 (indoors), 1:59 for the 800 (indoors), and 15:17 for the 3 miles in cross country. I placed 13th in the 3A 1600 at the IHSA State meet running my personal best in the event in 4:18. My goals for senior year are to be state champion in 2A cross country to give the team the best possible chance of bringing home the state championship trophy. Then on the track, I have goals of running sub 4:10 in the 1600, sub 9:10 in the 3200, and running in the 1:52-53 range in the 800. I can’t wait to have an awesome senior year and work as hard as possible to achieve my lofty goals!

While I love working hard and pushing myself to be the best I can be, I also love seeing my teammates succeed and run PR’s and break new barriers. I love being around a group of likeminded and driven individuals that want everyone to achieve their goals. This brings us closer together like a family. I also work hard in the classroom to get the highest grades possible. After my junior year, I hold a weighted GPA of 4.099.

I am super excited to finish my high school career strong at Prairie Ridge High School and make lifelong memories with hopefully my lifelong friends.
