My name is Angelica Hil, and I am a member of the Class of 2027 at Barrington High School in Illinois. My PRs are 17:12 for 3 miles, 5:11 in the 1600m, and 2:19 in the 800m. I am an all-state cross country athlete, placing 22nd individually at the 2025 IHSA 3A State Championship, and I contributed to a 1st place team finish at the 2025 State meet as well as a 3rd place team finish in 2023. During the most recent track season, my 4×800 relay team placed 4th at the IHSA state meet, where I ran a 2:19 split as the third leg. My goals for junior year track season are to run 10:45 for the 3200m and lower my 1600m time to 5:00.  

I take the same disciplined and goal oriented approach to my academics and leadership as I do to my training. I currently hold a 4.27 GPA and will complete nine AP courses by graduation, and I plan to pursue a major in engineering at the collegiate level. As a junior, my coach selected me to serve on the Athletic Leadership Council, representing athletes from all sports in Barrington High School. In this role, I help foster strong team culture, accountability, and leadership across programs. I am also involved in the Youth Advisory Council, which works to address unmet needs within the Barrington community, and last year helped raise $10,000 through community initiatives.  

Outside of cross country and track, I compete in triathlons during the summer as a member of MMTT, a team based in St. Charles, Illinois, allowing me to grow as both an athlete and leader in a new competitive setting. In 2025, I placed 15th at the USAT Youth Elite & Junior Elite Nationals Championships. I am highly motivated, committed to continual improvement, and excited to pursue both my academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level while contributing to a team and community.
